I am delighted to be launching
my Olympic diary! The Olympic torch went past my home town of Wokingham
earlier this week (I have enjoyed seeing all of the photos on Facebook). On Wednesday I visited the press centre at the Olympic Village where I got my badge
for the Games validated along with my press kit (and also checked out the press
bar, or Thames Bar – I hope they serve a good pint, next time I’m there!)
. The finishing touches are being made to the Olympic Village and it’s
all very exciting! I will be travelling around the country in July – on
the 26th I am going up to Manchester to cover Team GB football at
Old Trafford on their first game. I am also lucky enough to be working at
the opening ceremony, covering the fireworks. It is going to be a manic
but very exciting time. I am staying up in London for the duration of the
games and don’t have a fixed agenda but my goal is to cover the gold hopefuls
for team GB. Unfortunately, I won’t be working on any weddings now until
September due to the Olympics. However, this is a once in a lifetime
opportunity – to capture some moments of sporting history on your home turf and
I’m proud to be working on such an amazing event. You can follow my
Olympic diary on Facebook and Twitter (Search for #OlympicsJMC to read
about all of my adventures). Good luck team GB – we are right behind you!
